日本の気仙沼港において弊社が創業したのが1997年、水産物や漁業に関する機械や資材などの輸出入業を生業としてきました。そして、コーヒーショップ事業を始めたのが2005年です。2011年3月には東日本大震災により、コーヒーショップ2店舗、焙煎工房、私の自宅などが全壊流出し、先の見えない霧の中を進むような経験もしました。振り返れば瞬くように過ぎた日々も、一日一日の継続であり、その「過去」からの継続の上に弊社の「今」があります。どうすればお客様に喜ばれ、地域と世界にとって意味のある会社であり続けられるのか、この正解のない大きな問いかけに株式会社オノデラコーポレーションはこれからも挑み続けます。よりよい「未来」のために「今」できることを継続し続ける。未来から振り返った時、それこそが弊社の「力」となっているでしょう。

Our company was founded in Kesennuma Port, Japan in 1997, and has been importing and exporting marine products, foodstuffs, and machinery and materials related to fisheries. In 2005, we started our coffee shop business. In March 2011, due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, two of our coffee shops, a roasting workshop, and my home were completely destroyed, and I experienced an unpredictable fog. Looking back, I feel the days that have passed in a blink of an eye are a continuation of each day. Onodera Corporation will continue to tackle this big question with no right and easy answer: How can we please our customers and continue to be a company that is meaningful to the region and the world? We will continue to do what we can do “now” for a better “future”. Looking back from the future, that will be our company's strength.

　気仙沼港には世界の荒海を乗り越え、世界中の港を知っている漁師さん達がいます。まだまだ輸入品の少なかった時代、気仙沼のどの家庭にも漁師のみなさんの持ち込んだ舶来品のウィスキーやマヨネーズやインスタントコーヒーなどがありました。床の間にはワニの剥製やフラメンコの人形があったのを思い出します。

気仙沼人は常にフロンティアスピリットを持ち、誰かが敷いた線路の上を歩くのではなく、大海原にある自分の信じる目標へと航海にでる気質があるように思います。昔から宮城県の中で「陸の孤島」と呼ばれるのも、その地理的条件からだけではなく、世界を相手にするうちに身についた「自分達の生きるこの場所が自分達にとっては世界の中心なのだ」という気質からかもしれません。

At Kesennuma Port, there are fishermen who have overcome the world's rough seas and know ports around the world. At a time when imported goods were scarce, every household in Kesennuma had whiskey, mayonnaise, instant coffee, and other imported products brought by fishermen. I remember stuffed crocodiles and flamenco figures in the alcove.

The people of Kesennuma always have a frontier spirit, and rather than walking on the tracks laid by someone else, I think they have the temperament to sail to their own goals in the open sea. Miyagi Prefecture has long been called an ``isolated island on land'' not only because of its geographical location, but also because of the fact that we have learned from dealing with the world, ``This place where we live is the world's most important place for us. It may be from the temperament of ”we are the center."
